Wines - Sauvignon Blanc

 

2013 SAUVIGNON BLANC

Colour: Brilliant, pale green / straw.


Aroma: Clean, fresh aromas of lemongrass, snowpea and a little passionfruit, backed up by notes of nettles and mineral. Quite attractive.


Palate: Bright, zingy acid on the palate keeps the wine crisp and balanced finishing with a vibrant tropical /nettle flourish. Quite richly flavoured, but has some real elegance as well, plus a pleasantly dry, textural finish.


Summary: It’s hard to find a region in Australia more suited to Sauvignon than the Adelaide Hills. The Pike & Joyce vineyard continues to produce wines up there with the best. Try it with pan seared scallops with a little garlic and butter sauce.
